Post It, Stick It, Love It

This would be the perfect addition to my oh-so-cluttered "workspace" - I put quotation marks, because let's face itm ain't a whole lot of work being done here lately.

Speaking of workspace, I've been trying to revamp the look of my teeny-tiny desk.
I've seen some fantastic ideas, but for some reason I can never achieve the look I'm going for.
Maybe it's just a case of the grass-is-always-greener...

I could go on...and on, and on...

But I won't.
For now, anyway.
Just don't be surprised if I come back with a few more "cool workspace" posts.
It seems to be my new found obsession.

Late Night Cravings

Hmm...does that sound dirty?

To those of you who say yes - Get your mind out of the gutter!

For the past 4 nights, I've been getting these mad cravings for Drumsticks!

Caramel Drumsticks, that is.

Do you realize what it means to eat 4 drumsticks in 4 days?
Holy crap! Do you even know how fattening those are?
(I actually have no idea. I avoid the nutritional information on decadently delicious foods as a general rule)
I don't have the blissfully quick metabolism I did a few years ago.

O-K. I gotta go the corner store...get me some satisfaction, with a dollop of guilt and self-loathing.

AFS

Away From Sanity.

Ok as far as titles go, that one isn't great. But it feels right.

I haven't been around of late because I had some other pressing issues to attend to...

stuff like freaking out.

My last official exam is on April 26, which is not why I'm losing my shit.
I have to find a job!
No, I'm sorry. I mean a bloody career!?
How did I not see this coming?

I've been waiting for this for so long-
WHY HAVEN'T I BEEN PREPARING?!

I've sent out about 27 gazillion resumes,
and no word yet,

I know that the hiring process can take a while.
But tell me - how come when people try to make me feel better
they say things like "Oh yeah, it took me like 8 months to find a job after graduation"?

That is not what I want to hear right now.
But I suppose it is better than "Really?! Took me like a week to find my awesome, bitchin' job here at the coolest company this side of the universe."

I've managed to calm down a bit, found me a "summer" job while I look for something minorly related to my field. And I'm trying to go about the whole thing systematically. This is where my compulsive need to make lists and write everything down pays off.

First and foremost, I got to study. I haven't quite graduated yet, so I'll get that out of the way.

And so I leave you with a funny picture of what I would look like if I were a cat.

Ok, I'm not that bad...but I had to share.

Books Galore

The Boy and I are big on books. We have a compulsion to get our hands on every book we can and we won't get rid of a single one - and that includes our many, many textbooks from school.

...and that's not it.
Books have begun to spill over onto our Enetri shelves
(as an aside,
I really think that I could use a picture or something
to put on the wall over the shelves...
but then again, this side of the living room has already got enough going on.
What do you think?)

This is what I meant when I said that we were quickly running out of space in the apartment for all our books in a previous post. I would probably need to get rid of some furniture to fit those pieces in here, but it's a moot point when you consider their price tags.

As much as I love having all those books, I think that if we had our own place we could renovate and rebuild a room just around our books as the "centerpiece".

For example...

This last image is from a book that The Boy's sister got me as a gift.

How perfect is this?

I can't wait to just curl up in bed and devour this book!

(By the way,
sorry for not having
every picture...
these are pictures that
I have amassed just visiting
blogs and design websites
and I lost track of where
they all came from :( )

Pool Party in April

Ok, so we don't have a pool...but it was totally hot enough to go swimming

I've been meaning to post some pictures of our variously-themed party...
I just got lazy.

some last-minute preparations

The poor little pony pinata didn't know what hit it

I just want to give all my fantastic friends a huge thank you for a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious party.
I LOVE you guys!

Happy

Holy Moly!

It is summer-hot today!

For the first time in years, my birthday weekend isn't total crap, weather-wise.

It's shaping up to be a bitchin' party (or as The Boy would say "off the wall off the wall!")

We've never gone so all-out for a party.
I can't wait!

Well I'm off to make some jell-o shots.
I leave you with some pictures of sunny Montreal.

I'm Bored

Time for a change...

More white...with pops of colour.

Never Say Never

I never thought I would find something in Garage (which, hey, by the way, "created in Montreal"). I associate it with my "younger years" and consequently feel like it's for teens.

But one day, I was hopelessly wandering the mall in search of an elusive blue chiffon ruffle dress and in my desperation, I found my self in said store.

And I found these

Quite simply, I was smitten. A smitten kitten...
yup, that's right.
